Amritsar's response to Theme of the Month - Supportive Superivision


Supervision means to oversee work carried out by employee, 
staff etc. in a department of state or a private body.

Supportive supervision is kept in mind while planning the visits. Plans are made keeping in mind the following factors

  1. Poor work  of some centres
  2. Norms and guidelines for the newcomers.
  3. Gaps from ICTC to ART, STI & RNTCP.
  4. Burden of work.
  5. Stock Position.


The report from every centre regarding the above said works are considered every centre and then accordingly the visits are planned.

DAPCU staff keeps in mind while undertaking supervision that it should provide supportive supervision and try to build up a team which work and the better results are achieved.

Some Dos and Don'ts we keep in mind during our supportive supervisory visits are listed below

DOs

  1. Check the centres
  2. In case of vacant post send information to PSACS
  3. Send information of training status  to PSACS regarding all centres of District Amritsar.
  4. Guide new appointed persons for job responsibilities
  5. Support the all newcomers and guide all persons positively
  6. They should give training timely to all new appointed employees
  7. Give the chance to all members to share views and give suggestions
  8. Give all the information which is required to give to PSACS by DAPCU and all other centres timely
  9. Team work and co-ordination.
  10. Motivate all the members to have patience.
  11. Maintain discipline.
  12. Do not shirk responsibilities and do the work assigned and do not pass it to others.
  13. Out of district patients should be properly guided.
  14. Guide the rural people who are HIV +ve thoroughly and counsel.
  15. Guide the HIV +ve people about DIC which tell them about legal formalities for marriage, Property and Child discrimination in schools.
  16. Guide the TIs for new hot-spot areas of HRGs.\
  17. Guide HIV +ve people for free treatment at ART centre
  18. Provide help to HIV +ve pregnant women for institutional delivery where doctor refuses.


Don'ts 
  1. Don’t let the faith shaken
  2. Don't over burden
  3. Don’t share data with other facilities without permission of PSACS.
