POSITIVE PREVENTION

1. Why is positive prevention important?
    The nation wide programme on HIV/AIDS is being done with the objective to halt and reverse the  HIV/AIDS epidemic. So, this is important to prevent new positive cases.
2. What are the strategies for positive prevention underway in our districts? 
The strategies for effective positive prevention programmes underway are as follows:

  1.  Behaviour change programme through TI Programmes.
  2.  Control of sexual transmitted infection through STI clinics. 
  3.  Integrated  counselling and testing   of HIV/AIDS through ICTC centres.
  4.  Harm reduction programme for Injecting Drug Users.
  5.  Blood safety awareness.
  6.  Mid Media campaign and comprehensive awareness through mobile counselling and testing programme.

3. What role does the DAPCU play in this regard?
The role of DAPCU in this regard with respect to our district are;

  1.  Coordination with the  facilities like ICTCs,TIs,LWSs,ART, DSRC etc. and convergence of programme with NRHM.
  2.  Finding the gaps and bridging the gaps so as to make it stabilize. 
  3. Linking of PLHIVs with the social benefits and welfare schemes.
  4. racking the high risk zone through the spatial mapping.
